Frequently Asked Questions
How long does return-to-sport rehabilitation take?
Timelines vary by injury. ACL reconstructions typically require 9-12 months, ankle sprains 6-12 weeks, and hamstring tears 4-12 weeks. At Right Track, return is criteria-based — we use objective strength, movement, and readiness tests rather than calendar dates to ensure you're truly ready.
Can I continue training during rehabilitation?
In most cases, yes. We modify your training program to maintain cardiovascular fitness and upper/lower body strength while protecting the injured area. Our on-site gym allows us to supervise your adapted training alongside your rehabilitation sessions.
What sports injuries do you treat?
We treat all sports injuries including ACL/MCL tears, ankle sprains, hamstring and quadriceps tears, shoulder dislocations, rotator cuff injuries, tennis and golfer's elbow, concussion protocols, and overuse injuries like shin splints and tendinopathies. We work with athletes from football, basketball, martial arts, padel, running, and many other sports.
Is athlete rehabilitation covered by GESY?
Yes. As a GESY-registered physiotherapist (Antonis Petri: A2825), your sports injury treatment can be covered through the national health system. You'll need a referral from your doctor or orthopaedic surgeon. Private sessions are also available from €45 with no referral needed.
Do you work with professional sports teams?
Yes. Our lead clinician Antonis Petri works with competitive athletes and sports teams in Cyprus, and serves as Clinical Practice Supervisor at Frederick University. We collaborate with coaches and strength & conditioning professionals to ensure coordinated care throughout your return to sport.
What makes your approach different from other physiotherapy clinics?
We combine clinical physiotherapy with on-site strength & conditioning — most clinics only offer one or the other. Our criteria-based progression means your return to sport is guided by objective testing, not calendar dates. We also collaborate directly with your coach or team to coordinate your return to training.
How do you decide when I'm ready to return to sport?
We use validated return-to-sport testing batteries specific to your injury and sport. This includes strength testing (limb symmetry index), hop tests, agility assessments, and sport-specific functional tests. You return when you meet objective benchmarks — typically achieving at least 90% limb symmetry and passing sport-specific readiness criteria.
Do you have gym facilities for rehabilitation?
Yes. Our clinic includes an on-site gym equipped for rehabilitation and performance training. This allows us to supervise your strength work, progress exercises under load, and bridge the gap between clinical rehab and full return to training — all in one location.
Can I combine rehabilitation with sports massage?
Absolutely. Many athletes benefit from combining rehabilitation sessions with sports massage for recovery, muscle tension management, and injury prevention. We provide sports massage alongside your rehabilitation program for a comprehensive approach.
What if I'm a recreational athlete, not a professional?
Our programs are for athletes at every level — from weekend warriors and gym-goers to competitive and professional athletes. The rehabilitation principles are the same: evidence-based, criteria-driven, and tailored to your specific sport and goals. Whether you want to return to Sunday football or professional competition, we design your program accordingly.
